OUR COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
With NetJets, you’re in safe hands – we employ more than 500 exceptional pilots at the top of their profession, and invest in only the best flight training and operations.
Not only have we been awarded an Air Operator Certificate in accordance with the European Aviation Safety standards, we’re also recognised as a Continuing Airworthiness Management Operation, Approved Training Organisation and a Flight Simulation Training Device operator.
Our other credentials include the International Standard for Business Aviation Operations and the ISO 9001:2008 – ISO certification for Quality Management Systems.
Cutting Edge Technology
Our highly skilled flight data monitoring team work with the European Aviation Safety Agency and the UK Civil Aviation Authority to improve flight data analysis on our jets – including take-off performance – and ultimately make your experience more seamless.
As well as our own flight simulator and business jet smoke trainer, we have a fully approved safety management system, which allows us to share safety data about jets across the whole NetJets Europe fleet. We can then use this analysis to fuel future procedures and training, further maximising safety.
We’re currently working on the development of a predictive fatigue risk management system that will enable our team to monitor each pilot’s schedule and manage fatigue risks. We are the only on-demand private jet operator with this kind of system in place.
The operations team are always evaluating the safety of our jet flights and, while they hate to say no to any flight, will certainly do so if safety is at risk. We also hire an independent audit team to monitor our operations and support functions at least once a year.
So that your flights are as safe as possible, we continuously monitor our private flights and work with our pilots to improve their performance – we also provide each pilot with a monthly report on their flying technique.
Your NetJets flight will always have two captain-standard pilots in the cockpit. Not only are our pilots drawn from leading national air forces and commercial airlines, they also receive comprehensive flight training and spend 50% more time in full-motion flight simulators each year than most commercial airline pilots. While European regulations state the minimum qualification for a captain is 1,500 flying hours, we require our captains to have at least 3,000 hours’ experience under their belts. We hire only the best staff to ensure maximum safety. In fact, the average NetJets pilot has 5,000 hours of flying experience under their belt, and receives twice as much flight training as a pilot for a commercial airline. This includes 24 hours of flight simulator training per year.
Industry-leading Investment in Training and Safety
Thanks to backing from Berkshire Hathaway, we are investing €750 million in pilot training and safety – a commitment unmatched anywhere in private aviation.
The calibre of our pilots means they could comfortably fly many different types of private jet, but, at NetJets, we make sure they only specialise in one. That way, their knowledge of a particular jet’s performance features and flight deck is accurate and intuitive, and your private jet experience is smooth and secure.
